The following is from Linda Rochford who is looking for a very short 30 second promotional video to be produced for Campus Residences. The ‘winning’ entry will receive a ‘one4all’ voucher worth €500.00 (five hundred Euro).

Concept

The purpose of the competition is to design a video for Campus Residences Ltd. in Dublin City University.

This video will focus on the commercial aspect of Campus Residences Ltd and specifically on our summer accommodation.   We have 1000 rooms which we sell during the summer months.  These rooms are ensuite and rates can include a hot buffet breakfast.

We are looking for a creative, vibrant video which will highlight our summer accommodation with special focus on the youth and travel market.

Video Format and Content

The video should be no longer than 30 seconds long and the target audience is the youth and travel market.

We will make an apartment available to film the video.  Students can use their own props/actors in the apartment.  Please contact us to book a date and time to use our apartments.   In addition, students can do some filming in the Helix, DCU Sports and in the restaurants.  Please contact us first to secure a time to film in any of these locations.

Please make the video self-contained, so that newcomers to Campus Residences Ltd.will understand the product.  While the video can be fun, quirky, creative, it should still maintain a degree of professionalism.

If you have a YouTube channel please upload the video to your YouTube site.When we decide on a winning or shortlisted video, we will ask you for  a QuickTime file on DVD – H264 format, 1920 x 1080/720 25p/50p. The DVD is for storage and not to be ‘authored’. Alternatively you can submit on an external hard drive or USB thumb drive.

Eligibility 

The competition is open to registered students of Dublin City University and all entrants must have a valid student ID.  The competition is open to individuals and groups.

How to enter

Entries must be submitted by email to group-sales@dcu.ie.  The entries should be submitted as above (see video format and content).

A short paragraph on the thought process for the design should also be included.

The email should include the name, phone number and email address of the entrant(s).

No more than three entries may be submitted by any entrant or group of entrants.

The deadline for entries is 17th May 2013.

Intellectual Property

All submitted work must be original and not based on any pre-existing design.

For the video chosen as the winner, entrants grant Campus Residences Ltd. an exclusive royalty-free license to copy, digitize, store, distribute publish, display, advertise promote or otherwise use the video in any media or format (including the internet.)

Campus Residences Ltd reserves the right not to select a winner if in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.

Judging and selection of Winner

The winner will be announced on the 7th June.
