X-Projects: Live Music Gig (Complete)
The post below is from Sophie Broadhead of Sofar Sounds, who is looking for someone to help film their live music shows. Sophie has confirmed that Sofar will cover basic expenses such as food and transport etc. Their website and videos are worth checking out.
WANT TO GET EXPERIENCE SHOOTING AND EDITING LIVE MUSIC AND GIGS?
WANT TO BE INVOLVED IN A GLOBAL NETWORK OF SECRET GIGS IN INTIMATE SPACES THAT BRING THE MAGIC BACK TO LIVE MUSIC?
Sofar Sounds Dublin is looking for someone to help with filming live shows with 2-3 cameras and multicam editing and colour grading using FCPx.
An excellent opportunity for a photography/media/video student/young professional who wants to gain experience. Previous experience preferable, but not essential – great opportunity to build up a portfolio of work.
Ideally you would have your own camera, preferably DSLR, and also preferably Canon. Other cameras will work too, as long as they can shoot 1080p.
Alternatively, if someone would like to work with the editing who does not have a camera that’s a possibility too.
For more information on Sofar Sounds in general see www.sofarsounds.com For information about the Sofar Sounds Dublin set up see www.facebook.com/SofarSoundsDublin. From there you’ll gather that there’s no economic element to being involved in Sofar Sounds – it’s just cool that something like this exists, and its great to help make it work!
The next session is on March 24 so you’ll need to be available to meet before then and also on the night.
If of interest, please PM Sophie and Steve on the Sofar Sounds Dublin Facebook page and we can take it from there.
P.S. Sophie has given permission for you to contact her directly via e-mail if you prefer:
N.B. As a courtesy, if you take up this project, please also e-mail me at: William Tuke, so I can close off the request.
