The following is from Christine O’Kelly, Age Friendly Project Coordinator, DCU, who is looking for a high-profile event to be recorded:
All 4 profiles
Clockwise L-R, some of the attendees will be: Prof. Brian Mac CraithLord David Puttnam,Clare Duignan & Michael O’Muircheartaigh (images courtesy:, bbc,, newstalk).
Third Age Ireland and DCU Age Friendly University will be hosting an evening  with Lord David Puttnam and Michael O’Muircheartaigh on October 12th next in the Helix.
The event will be along the lines of the “Actors Studio” format with Miriam O’Callaghan conducting the interviews and moderating Q/A from the audience, Clare Duignan  (former RTE) will act as MC on the night.
Our President, Brian Mac Craith will open the event.
This is a fundraiser to support the work of Third Age which operates the 3 programmes – Senior Helpline – a telephone befriending service for older people, SAGE – the national advocacy service giving a voice to older people living in nursing homes and Faiilte Insteach – a free programme run throughout Ireland in the libraries where older people give their time teaching non english speakers english.
It is an exciting and unique opportunity to hear the experience of  two older people who have made a significant contribution and impact throughout their lives and continue to do so into their third age.
I am seeking a student to record this event on camera so it might be used to promote both the DCU Age Friendly Initiative and Third Age. Here is a link to the AFU website

If interested please contact:
Christine O’Kelly at 01 700 8933
As there will be a number of activities in the coming months focussing on ageing I would be very interested in speaking with any student who has an interest in this area.
