Fr. Mark Goring discusses the joy, forgiveness, lack of fear and love, that a person can experience after having their confession heard. He recounts Jesus’ command to his apostles to forgive sins, and once forgiven, they are forgotten by God. Scripture says “..your sins I will remember no more” [Hebrews 8:12]. St. Paul says in Philippians ‘..forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on towards the goal’ [Philippians 3:13-14]. God wants us to forget our sins and move on with life, towards our ultimate goal – union with him.

Why Can’t the Church Ordain Women Priests?
Our ancestors understood that men and women have distinct qualities so they tried to define roles and conventions that were best suited to the strengths of each.

The Authorities Can’t Save You
When most people hear the word authoritarianism, it naturally conjures a range of negative associations. We tend to think of dictators, wars, and genocides. And it’s probably a good thing that it does produce those kinds of associations because despotism isn’t something that anyone wants, but it seems to me that the unprecedented fragile peace and prosperity that so many generations have known now is never far from that edge.
“Pope Francis and Vatican II”
Friends, some Catholics in America today are increasingly vocal in their attacks on the Second Vatican Council—an ecumenical council of the Church summoned and presided over by the successor of Peter. What the Early Church Believed About the Sacraments
If we jumped into a time machine, traveled back to the first centuries of the Church, and asked Christians what they believed about the seven sacraments, would we feel we were among Catholic brethren? Karlo says yes, and he shows, using the writings of the early Fathers, that their belief regarding the sacraments is the same belief the Catholic Church professes today.
